Representing Clients in Audits
Tax consultants represent clients during audits to ensure the tax return is accurate to minimize tax payments. By guiding the process, they can reduce the time and money invested by the organization, along with the overall tax liability.
Research Tax Laws
To ensure clients comply with the latest regulations, tax consultants may read tax law journals, attend seminars, and network with other tax professionals. Research skills benefit organizations by ensuring that clients follow the law and pay the correct amount of taxes.
Attending Client Meetings & Events
We are looking for an outgoing person that will enjoy socializing in meetings as well as at our events such as client appreciation events, industry conferences, professional development programs, and marketing events that you will be expected to attend.
Content Creation
We are always looking to educate our current as well as prospective customers. This means collaborating on and creating content for our monthly newsletter, annual market report, social media posts, videos, and articles for publication.
Business Development
We are looking to grow the firm as well as our services and are looking for someone with a growth mindset and the ability to expand our book of business.
CPA & Tax Advisor Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance and a CPA certification
- Proven work experience as a Certified Public Accountant (CPA)
- Experience with Business AND Personal tax advising
- Thorough knowledge of accounting and financial procedures
- Understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
- Experience with accounting software, like Quickbooks
- Advanced MS Excel knowledge (familiarity with formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables)
- Ability to create financial projections of cash flows, pro forma, and all necessary financial support and schedules for inclusion in Seed & Series A Funding Presentations for Start-Ups
- Excellent analytical skills with an attention to detail
- Integrity, with an ability to handle confidential information

CPA & Tax Advisor Essential Functions
- Create and maintain a robust financial forecast and budget (expected to master forecasting tools and methodology)
- Create and maintain a 13-week cash flow forecast
- Meet with the clients regularly to review in detail the monthly reporting package and the forecast
- Provide clients with strategic insight into the financial performance of the company
- Analyze financial statement trends and KPIs and make recommendations for client actions to address insights from such
- Develop strong working relationships with clients and other stakeholders
- Suggest and implement operational best practices within the finance and accounting department
- Employ good, sound judgment and become a trusted advisor within the company
- Develop and manage financial controls in accordance with the company’s procedures
- Generate qualified leads for future engagements by networking with other professional trusted advisors
